Seminar / Masterclass: “Improvisation as a Means of Expression in Mediterranean and Balkan Traditions – Solo or Taksim?” with Thanos Stavridis
Location: Olive Mango Art Studio
Improvisation is an essential element of folk music traditions across the Mediterranean and the Balkans, from Spain and France to Bulgaria, Turkey, and of course Greece. Depending on the culture, it is known as “solo” or “taksim,” but at its core, it is the same universal language of musical expression.
This seminar explores the similarities and differences between these traditions, focusing on improvisation as a living, expressive practice. Participants will listen, analyze, and actively engage in creating spontaneous musical ideas in a supportive and creative environment. Open to all musicians—accordionists and non-accordionists alike, professionals and amateurs—this workshop encourages freedom of expression and musical dialogue. Participants are invited to bring their instruments and join in collective improvisation.
Highlights:

Suitable for amateurs or professional musicians (beginners or advanced)
Accordion Seminar / Masterclass Fee: 75 euro or 135 euro for both Accordion Masterclasses
